ABOUT AAA FUEL PRICES

AAA’s Fuel Prices website is updated daily around 3am ET by Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) with average national, state, and local prices for gasoline, diesel, and E-85. Every day, OPIS surveys up to 120,000 stations nationwide based on credit card swipes, in addition to gathering direct sales data from fuel retailers and crowdsourced pricing data. All those prices go through a set of benchmarks and other quality control measures to help eliminate any incorrect outlier prices, and the prices that pass the automated cleansing process make it into AAA’s system.

Founded in 1902 by automotive enthusiasts advocating for better roads and safer mobility, AAA has grown into one of North America’s largest and most trusted membership organizations.
